Welcome to the Canadian Energy Law Foundation.
Engage
CELF members include legal practitioners from law firms, companies, governmental entities, administrative bodies, professional societies, and institutions of learning, as well as sole practitioners and other individuals interested in fostering the development of energy law in Canada.
Through its conferences, annual dinner and Fall cocktail reception, the CELF provides significant networking opportunities among its vast and influential membership, which represent energy interests in Canada from Coast to Coast.
Educate
The CELF organizes three conferences, which serve as a platform in advancing its objectives to foster the development of and improve the law relating to the energy industry, and to raise the standards of the administration and practice of energy law in Canada:
- The Annual Research Seminar in Energy Law held in Jasper every June
- The East Coast Seminar in Energy Law held periodically in Eastern Canada
- The Energy Law Fundamentals Seminar held every twelve to eighteen months
The papers from the Jasper and East Coast conferences are published in the Energy Law Edition of the Alberta Law Review and the Dalhousie Law Journal, respectively.
Through fees and sponsorship, members also contribute to advancing energy law through the CELF’s scholarship program.
